Oporto Lux Apartments - A Cozy stay right in the heart of Porto

In April, I found myself yearning for a bit more sunshine and a break from my everyday life in London. And let's be honest, my travel adventures had been fairly limited since the pandemic, with visits to Estonia and a few months in Edinburgh being the highlights.
So, the idea of a getaway to Porto seemed fantastic. Following a brief search on booking.com, I made the decision to book a stay at Oporto Lux Apartments. In this blog post I will give you a overview of the stay.
Beautiful airy modern decor.
What initially attracted me to Oporto Lux Apartments was its beautiful aesthetics and overall vibe, and it absolutely lived up to expectations in person. This modern yet cozy apartment seamlessly combines classic and contemporary decor, with a light and airy design that fosters a serene and welcoming atmosphere—exactly what I was seeking. it's is a perfect place to relax with a glass of wine or a cup of tea after a day exploring some of the Porto's highlights.

Easy check-in and check-out system.:
A day before arriving at the property, I received the codes for the doors to enter the building and the apartment. The check-in is from 15:00 to 21:00 and check-out 8.00- 11.00. You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive. it's worth noting that there is an extra charge of 30 EUR for arrivals after the standard check-in hours.
Plenty of space for storage. One of the things that makes a hotel feel like home is when you actually have lots of space to store your belongings—no clothes on the bed or an exploded suitcase in the corner of the room. The large mirrored wardrobe offered plenty of space for hanging all my clothes and organizing my belongings, helping the place to look neat and tidy at all times. Plus the mirrors on the wardrobe created an illusion of more space in the studio.
Good size bathroom : The bathroom, regrettably, escaped my photographic documentation, but it was pleasantly spacious. Equipped with a sizable mirror and roomy drawers.
The shower itself was simple with excellent water pressure. I was actually pleased to see the the presence of a handheld showerhead, a feature lacking in some of the hotels I've visited. While the large fixed shower heads may look fancy, without a handheld option, they are far from convenient. As someone who prefers not to wash her hair every time she showers, those imposing fixed shower heads can be quite a headache when you simply want to cleanse your body.
Excellent Location: The Oportolux apartments are located right in the heart of Porto ( R. do Pinheiro), next to cafes and bars, shopping streets, close to the main tourist attractions such as Torre dos Clérigos, Livraria Lello, Ribeira, and the Port wine cellars. The apartments are about a 17-minute walk to the Luis I Bridge, where you can experience the breathtaking sunset view of Porto.
And it takes about 6 minutes to walk from Trindade train station to Oporto LuxApartments. Additionally, there is a decent-sized and reasonably priced supermarket, Froiz, about a 4-minute walk away, where you can buy essentials or food if you fancy cooking and having a meal in.
Even though it is located right in the center of Porto, it was surprisingly quiet. The apartments are situated one level above the main busy streets and also seem to have great noise cancelation measures in place.

Kitchen: All the Oporto Lux apartments have a fully equipped kitchen with all the kitchenware needed to cook and enjoy a meal. So you can truly feel like at home. And let's not forget, a proper espresso machine to kickstart the day for all the coffee enthusiasts like me.
Cleanliness: is undoubtedly a top priority for me when evaluating a hotel and feeling at home in a hotel. The apartment was very well-maintained and spotless, making for a reassuringly comfortable and welcoming stay.
And, of course, the apartments were equipped with all the other modern conveniences such as TV, Netflix, and free Wi-Fi, along with properly functioning air conditioning.
All in all, I was extremely pleased with my stay at Oporto Lux Apartments. Perhaps the two main drawbacks I can point out are that none of the apartments have a balcony, and the additional fee for arriving after check-in times.
